Area Fire Resources This part of the site is intended to be a resource to Portland, Oregon based fire performers. It will be updated as more information is made available to me. If you know of Portland area fire resources not listed here email me. - Portland Regulations -Fire performance within city limits is regulated: To engage in "Fire Performance Art"; in the City of Portland, one must be in compliance with the Portland Bureau of Fire, Fire Prevention Division's C-7 Policy. An electronic copy of the C-7 policy is available in .pdf format here. To perform, or practice lit, one must obtain a "Conditional Use Permit"; from the Fire Marshall's office. The Fire Marshall's office is located at 55 SW Ash Street in Downtown Portland, and can be reached at (503)823-3712. The City Parks and Recreations Department is supposedly creating requirements for performances in City parks. Those requirements will be posted here when they surface. - Regularly Occurring Events in the Portland Area - The first Sunday of every month is the firejam. Lots of local fire performers gather and play under under the Marquam Bridge, where Salmon street dead-ends at the river. The upshot is a big chaotic free show.
