December 11th Closing Ritual I attended the 12/11 body modification gathering wherein likeminded folk gather in a private space to ritually suspend from hooks in their skin, as well as ritually cut, burn, brand, and skewer their flesh I participated in the closing ceremony, wherein my good friend Dale "the Nail" was suspended from two hooks in his chest at which point I whipped him with a firewhip. It was pretty intense. Angie, a tattoo artist at spiritual tree tattoos took some great pictures: Here is me whipping Dale: Here is Ivizia and Jen working him over with wands: Here is Dale after the hooks were removed -- he tore out a few inches of skin. . .
